building history 3.0
Building History 3.0 is an innovative new website and curriculum project.
Using the 3D construction and exploration online video game, Minecraft, Building History 3.0 engages young people with the history of the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.
Through Building History 3.0 students will:
Begin with a driving question on themes such as citizenship, civil liberties, democracy, and immigration
Conduct research using texts, and online and digital resources, and analyze and discuss that research
Construct virtual incarceration camps on Minecraft based on their research and present their projects (an essay, vlog, or short animation video) at a public event
Building HIstory 3.0 is intended to combine creativity and collaborative learning in a structured lesson plan that takes users through research, creation, sharing and reflection.
